Motivation

What motivate tourist to participate?

Kedah is also known as "The Rice Bowl of Malaysia" as it provides one third of Malaysia's total production of rice. Some of the places of attraction that many tourist visit in Kedah are:


  • Alor Setar 
  • the capital city of the Kedah state and located in the Kota Setar district. 
  • it has many historical attractions known as Kedah Herritage Trail. 
  • as example Rice museum, Tunku Abdul Rahman memorial, Alor Star.tower, Zahir mosque, Mount Keriang cave and many more.


  • Langkawi Island
  • designed as UNESCO Global Geopark, Langkawi offers beautiful beaches and a paradise for duty-free shoppers.
  • outdoor activities such as diving, jungle trekking, gold and many more.
  • unique Underwater World aquarium in Langkawi of many tropical fish and sea-livings.

  • Sedim River
  • best place to seek challenge in water adventure.
  • kayaking or canoeing.
  • also has Tree Top Walk which is the world's longest canopy walkway.

BENEFIT OF TOURISM IN KEDAH

There are a lot of benefits of tourism in Kedah, Malaysia. Such as an example, at Zahir Mosque it can generate residents’ income that carry out the business activities in that area. And its can develop Islamic tourism with the landscape and architecture of mosque that attract travelers, particularly who are Muslim.

As for Pulau Langkawi, it can increase the state's revenue and also our country because Langkawi is a duty-free island and it attracts more people to shopping there. Plus, it can enhance the development of Kedah's state because there are more foreign investor come to Langkawi to invest.

In addition, tourism is one of the income revenue for every country so as Kedah. Since Kedah have a lot of interesting places, it attracts more tourists to visits. Those interesting places in Kedah has make Kedah more popular within tourist either from Malaysia or tourist across the world.

Good tourism in Kedah also improve country’s economic since the ringgit will flow to the country and make good profit as Kedah is one of Malaysia good economy income.

Tourism in Kedah improves many businesses such as Hotel and Resort. Beside that, the seafood is really popular in Langkawi Island.

Many benefit that our country get from tourism activities.  Because of this, tourism activities in our country must be very popular and we have to do something to make the number of tourist increase all the time.

We as tourism student hope that Malaysian and tourist will choose Kedah as there must visit place because Kedah wont disappoint anyone. Those lovely and beautiful places will amuse you and create beautiful memories.


Introduction to culture tourism



What is CULTURE TOURISM?

Cultural tourism is the subset of tourism within country or region’s culture, specifically the lifestyle of the people of the people in those geographical areas, the history of those people, visual and performing arts, architecture, religions, traditions as well as other creative elements that create the natives lifestyle.


Why Culture Tourism is IMPORTANT?
It is important for various reasons.
-         Positive economic and social impact
-         Establishes and reinforces identity
-         Helps build image
-         Helps preserve the cultural and historical heritage
-         Facilitates harmony and understanding among people
-         Supports culture and helps renew tourism


~MALAYSIA~

As everyone know that Malaysia is a very unique country. In Malaysia we have Malays, Chinese, Indians and many other ethnic groups have lived together in Malaysia. All these culture may have influenced each other since they have been living around each other for ages, and it created a true Malaysian culture.

However some said that the surrounding areas have greatly influenced Malaysian cuisine from Malay, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Javanese and Sumatran cuisines. The largest ethnic groups in Malaysia are Malays, Chinese and Indian. While in Sabah & Sarawak there are also different ethnic groups with their uniqueness, culture and heritage.


DANCING CULTURE
